A woman shot multiple times early Wednesday morning was a University of Washington sorority member.

“Witnesses began calling 911 just after 12 am Wednesday reporting shots fired in the 5200 block of 19 Ave Northeast,” Seattle Police Detective Patrick Michaud said in a statement. “Officers arrived and found a woman who had been shot multiple times laying on the ground. Officers provided aid to the woman until Seattle Fire Medics were able to arrive and transport the woman to Harborview Medical Center.”

The victim was a live-out, meaning she did not live in the house. KIRO 7 reporter Siemny Kim talked to a couple of her roommates who said the girl is stable and recovering.

They said the incident was a drive-by shooting and the girl was coming home from a concert at the Crocodile Café in Belltown.

KIRO 7 also talked to students and neighbors who heard five to six gunshots and then screaming.

Police searched the area and located multiple 9mm shell casings.

“Dispatch notified officers of a robbery four blocks from where the shooting had occurred,” Michaid said. “Officers arrived at the reported robbery and determined that the two scenes may be related, but the robbery victim was not cooperative. Both victims described three black males as possible suspects in each case.”
