(Jeremy Dwyer-Lindgren)

SEATTLE — The Woodland Park Zoo is looking for the public’s help in naming one of their newborn lemurs, after triplets were born at the zoo in March.

The baby red-ruffed lemurs were born to first-time mom Sally and will be available for public viewing soon.

The babies are healthy, and according the zoo staff, are climbing, playing, eating blueberries and leaping distances of up to 2 feet.

Choices of names were chosen from Malagasy, the national language of their native country, Madagascar.

The public is invited to choose from one these choices:

  • Lanitra (law-NEE-truh) – sky
  • Masoandro (mas-oh-AND-roh) – sun
  • Orana (oh-RAW-nuh) – rain
  • Ravina (ruh-VEE-nuh) – leaf

Visit zoo.org/lemurnaming to vote now.

Voting ends Thursday, May 27 at 3 p.m.
