FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — A pickup truck driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Friday night after he struck a Washington State Patrol officer's vehicle in Federal Way, officials said.
Trooper Rick Johnson said the collision happened after 7 p.m. on westbound State Route 18 near Weyerhaeuser Way.
A trooper was conducting a ride-along and pulled over to investigate a three-car collision, which was blocking the left of the highway.
While the trooper was stopped, the driver of the pickup hit the patrol vehicle without braking, officials said.
No one was injured.
Troopers said the driver had prior DUIs and was driving on a suspended license and did not have a required interlock device installed.
