At least 1 mailbox in Bellevue blown up with fireworks

BELLEVUE, Wash. — Bellevue police say there have been two reports of fireworks exploding in mailboxes Thursday morning.

The incidents occurred about a mile apart in a neighborhood near Phantom Lake about 5 a.m.

The mailboxes that were blown up were  reported to be on 151st Avenue Southeast and 164th Avenue Southeast, but a KIRO 7 News crew could only find one mailbox filled with charred debris that was warped and had it's door blown off.

Police are investigating.
