Man injured by equipment fall at Skagit River Bridge

A piece of equipment fell from the Skagit Bridge onto a man Thursday afternoon, injuring his arm.

A contractor working for the Washington State Department of Transportation was injured in the work zone, an agency spokesperson said. The man was taken to a local hospital, and WSDOT is investigating the accident.

The Thursday incident isn’t expected to affect replacement progress for on the span, which collapsed in late May. The temporary span was opened to traffic the following month.
