The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office said a passenger was killed in a crash in which the driver was believed to be under the influence.

Deputies and fire personnel were called to a report of a one-car rollover crash in the 15800 block of Bald Hills Road Southeast about 9 p.m. Monday.

A passenger had been partially ejected from the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was trapped inside, and once freed by firefighters, was transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said they believe the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash.  Margaret Le Ann Kautzman, 34, was arrested at the hospital on charges of vehicular homicide.

The identification of the victim will be released by the Thurston County Coroner’s Office after his family is notified of his death.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicated that the Camaro rolled over onto its top when the driver couldn’t make a sharp curve.
