LYNNWOOD, Wash. — A 24-year-old man was taken into custody after attacking two men with a sword Wednesday night, deputies said.
Authorities responded after 9 p.m. to a report of a man who was bleeding and yelling for help on the street in the 13800 block of Fender Drive. Medics took the man to the hospital for serious wounds to his neck and arm.
Police said at about 9:15 p.m. a woman called 911 reporting that her grandson tried to cut her with a sword at a home in the 13700 block of Fender Drive. The woman’s injuries were minor and did not need medical attention.
Fifteen minutes later, a 40-year-old man entered a Dollar Tree store at 13619 Mukilteo Speedway and asked for help for a large cut to his hand. The man told deputies that he was at a nearby home when a man cut him with a sword. The man was treated at a hospital for his hand injury.
Authorities took a 24-year-old man into custody at a home in the 13700 block of Fender Drive, where the three assaults are believed to have occurred.
Neighbors identified the man as Brandin Ayling, who has a criminal history of disorderly conduct and possessing and displaying a dangerous weapon.
Friends told KIRO 7's Amy Clancy Ayling has a number of swords in his Lynnwood home.
Neighbors said the home where the attacks happened is known for illegal drug activity.
Deputies said the relationship between the man and the victims has not been determined.
Police will continue to investigate the incident.
