SEATTLE — The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified a woman whose body was found in Seattle’s South Park neighborhood Sunday morning.
The medical examiner identified the woman as 26-year-old Celina Petersen. She suffered a fatal blunt force injury to her head.
"I'm still trying not to accept it. I mean, that was my baby sister,” said Jeremy Patterson, Petersen’s brother.
On Sunday officers responded to multiple 911 calls of a woman down and unresponsive in an alley in the 1200 block of South Sullivan Street.
"Just know that she was chased down, and somebody beat her, I don't know who,” said Patterson.
The family is holding onto memories of Petersen as someone who loved to box at the local gym and play violin at her church.
"My sister, she loved to give the biggest hugs I know, I mean, every time I'd come over to my mom's house and she was here, she'd come over and she'd grab hold of me, and she wouldn't let go for a minute or two,” said Patterson.
He said the family has no idea who murdered his sister.
"It's kinda hard. How do you forgive somebody who did something like that?"
Anyone with information is urged to call the Seattle Police Department’s homicide/assault tip line at 206-233-5000.
