Memorial held for Tacoma firefighter who died on the job

TACOMA, Wash. — Firefighters and other mourners filled the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall on Friday afternoon for a memorial service for Tacoma firefighter Albert Nejmeh.

A Tacoma Fire Department spokesperson said Nejmeh, 59, collapsed May 14 while assisting a Tacoma resident on an aid call.   He died of a heart attack.

Nejmeh was assigned to Ladder 2, Station 8 and was a member of the technical rescue team.
