SOUTH KITSAP, Wash. — Firefighters from South Kitsap and Mason County responded to a fire on West Belfair Valley Road Saturday night.
The occupants were able to evacuate and are currently staying with a neighbor until Red Cross can provide temporary lodging.
Several cats were found in an area of the house unaffected by the fire and were taken to their owners. The cats sustained minor injuries.
There was heavy smoke and fire-related damage throughout the home.
The Kitsap County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
