SEATTLE — A naked woman police say was battered and bloodied went door to door Tuesday morning in a South Seattle neighborhood, desperately screaming for help.
According to Seattle police, the victim was attacked at a home in the 9700 block of Arrowsmith Avenue South in the Rainier Beach area.
Officers were called to the neighborhood at 2:17 a.m. after the victim ran out of the house and down a hill to other homes across the street, leaving blood on the door of one house as she stood screaming on the porch.
A neighbor pointed out a particular house in the block that they believed the woman had been inside and told officers that several people had driven away in a car prior to the officers' arrival.
Officers checked the home and found one of the doors covered in blood, police said. As they banged on doors and windows trying to get a response, officers could see that the walls inside were covered in blood, Seattle police said.
Officers then checked the house to see if there were any other victims, but no one was inside.
According to police, the homeowner returned to the house a short time later and admitted that the victim had been inside his house.
The man in his 40s was taken into custody.
The woman was transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening head injuries and cuts.
