North Bend café to reappear with return of ‘Twin Peaks'

NORTH BEND, Wash. — They’ll be more business for a diner at the center of a 90's cult classic.

Quick Facts:

  • "Twin Peaks" to premiere next year on Showtime
  • Twede's Café to get renovation on network's dime
  • Look of café will remain the same
  • Filming in North Bend starts in September

"Twin Peaks" is coming back to TV next year.

Twede's Cafe in North Bend has been a tourist destination for 25 years.

It was called the Double R Diner during the first run of the show in the 90s.

The diner is where FBI agent Dale Cooper, played by Kyle MacLachlan, ordered his famous coffee and cherry pie.

The show's producer will renovate the diner on the network's dime.

Owner Kyle Twede says he won't change a thing.

“We make sure we have damn fine coffee and really good cherry pie. We work at it to make sure it’s that way,” said Twede.

Twede says he told producers to make the renovations permanent.

He estimates he's done about 10 percent more business since the return of the show was announced.

The new season of Twin Peaks is set to premiere next year on Showtime.

Filming at the cafe in North Bend starts in September.
