Amtrak train hits, kills Edmonds woman

EDMONDS, Wash. — Edmonds police are investigating a fatal train collision near Haines Wharf Park after a 41 year-old woman was hit while crossing the train tracks Sunday

The train struck the woman at 7:10 p.m. and was confirmed dead on scene.

She was with her husband at the time. He was not injured.

The Amtrak train was not carrying passengers due to a landslide between Edmonds and Everett.

Investigators will be on the tracks for several hours.
