An Arlington teacher is accused of secretly recording videos of women and students at school and transferring them to a USB device.
On Oct. 24. detectives talked to the parents of an Arlington Christian School student, who found a USB device in the school parking lot. They reviewed the files and found what was described as several disturbing videos.
Snohomish County deputies said detectives confirmed the USB device belonged to Arlington Christian School teacher Stephen Brown, who is also a pastor at Seven Lakes Baptist Church in Stanwood.
In probable cause documents, investigators said the videos were described as zoomed in and specifically focusing on female students and staff members' breasts, buttocks and vaginal areas. Investigators had also found videos showing the suspect's partial or full face.
Investigators also described in probable cause documents finding video Brown allegedly recorded up a student’s skirt as she sat in a classroom.
On Oct. 26, a search warrant was obtained by detectives to search the USB for additional videos. Investigators found another video.
The teacher was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of voyeurism. A judge set Brown’s bond at $100,000 Tuesday.
At last check, Brown remained jailed and formal charges had not been filed.
School officials have placed the teacher on administrative leave and told KIRO 7 Tuesday they were moving to fire Brown.
The school said in a statement, "additional protective measures are being coordinated with parents."
KIRO 7 spoke with a church elder at Brown's Stanwood church by phone who said church leadership planned to meet and discuss the pastor's arrest.
KIRO 7 also stopped by Brown’s home to speak with family members but no one answered the door. Several neighbors spoke off-camera and described being shocked by the allegations.
Detectives are still investigating to see if there are any additional victims and witnesses.
