Family searching for husky missing after fire that destroyed home

LYNNWOOD, Wash. — A Lynnwood family of four whose house was destroyed by fire last week is asking for help in finding a dog that disappeared when the fire broke out in the 1700 block of 13th Avenue West.

At first it was reported that two dogs were missing from the home, but the homeowner said two dogs died in the fire and believe their third dog may have ran off.

The dog is a Siberian/Alaskan Husky mix named Kyo (pronounced "Kio") and weighs 30 to 35 pounds, the family said. The family said she also has a small scar on her snout and is fixed.

The family discovered the fire after they were awakened by a loud bang in their home and were able to get out safely.

When South County Fire got to the home, it was already engulfed in flames and had to be fought defensively from the outside.

The family wants to get the word out so they may get Kyo back.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lynnwood Fire.
