Deputies are investigating after human remains were found in Snohomish on Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies said a crew cleaning up roadside litter found what appeared to be remains found near the intersection of Downes Road and Fales Road near State Route 522.
A suitcase and a blanket was also recovered.
Investigators said the gender and age of the person have not been determined.
Deputies said the identification of the deceased will be determined by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner, as well as the cause and manner of death.
This is an active and ongoing investigation.
