Police asking for public's help in identifying body found on Skagit County beach

SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. — Police are hoping someone will be able to identify a woman whose body was found on a beach in Skagit County Sunday.

At about 2:10 p.m., deputies were called to a report of a body on Agate Beach, which is on Guemes Island, at the west end of the Guemes Channel, just north of Anacortes.

On January 1, 2017 at approximately 2:10 p.m., Skagit County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a body located on Agate Beach, which is on Guemes Island at the west end of the Guemes Channel just north of Anacortes.

Deputies found the body of a white woman, about 65 to 75 years old. She is about 5 feet 5 inches tall, 140 to 145 pounds with reddish brown dyed over graying hair.

Deputies believe she had been on the beach for less than 24 hours. There currently is no reported missing persons fitting that description from the area.

The sheriff's office is asking for the public’s help in identifying any possible missing persons fitting that description who have not been reported.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Skagit County Sheriff's Office through Skagit 911 at 360-428-3211.
