Snohomish County insurance agency owner sentenced in wire fraud case

A former insurance agent in Snohomish County was sentenced to prison in federal court on Tuesday for wire fraud, according the Office of the Insurance Commissioner of Washington State.

After pleading guilty, Vicki Boser, 58, was sentenced to two years in prison and three years of supervised release.

She was also ordered to pay restitution of $273,137 to eight clients she defrauded from 2014 to 2016.

Investigators found that Boser fraudulently signed policies on behalf of clients without their knowledge, overcharged clients, stole insurance premium payments, and provided fake certificates of insurance to some clients.

Boser owned and operated Insurance Tek, Inc. from 2003 until her license was revoked in 2017.
