At that point, police intentionally struck the rear of the car to stop the car with a PIT maneuver. Two police cars were damaged.
The driver then surrendered.
The man was identified as Tyler Ware, who has several warrants for his arrest for possession of a firearm and possession of drugs. He also has arrests for dealing drugs and nearly hitting an officer with his car, which occurred this month.
Westbound SR 524 was closed for the investigation but it reopened at about 5:20 a.m.
