LYNNWOOD, Wash. — Police arrested a wanted felon after a chase on southbound I-5 from Everett to Lynnwood.

The KIRO 7 News assignment desk first heard about the pursuit north of 128th Street at about 2:15 a.m. Friday.

Police tried to pull over a driver, but they wouldn’t stop.

A pursuit began until about 196th Street Southwest, which is also SR 524, when the driver tried to get on an I-5 ramp going the wrong way.

At that point, police intentionally struck the rear of the car to stop the car with a PIT maneuver.  Two police cars were damaged.

The driver then surrendered.

The man was identified as Tyler Ware, who has several warrants for his arrest for possession of a firearm and possession of drugs. He also has arrests for dealing drugs and nearly hitting an officer with his car, which occurred this month.

Westbound SR 524 was closed for the investigation but it reopened at about 5:20 a.m.
