Olympia residents can weigh on in on plans to double car tab fees in the state's capital, which would raise money for road repairs.
Currently, the city charges a $20 renewal fee for cars registered in Olympia, but according to The Olympian, the transportation board is expected to approve a $40 fee.
The $40 fee for car tabs is the highest amount possible without voter approval. The hearing starts at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
In February, KIRO 7 News reported anti-tax activist Tim Eyeman is going after the state's car tabs. He filed an initiative that would make car tabs just $30 for all vehicle owners.
