SEATTLE — Authorities have released photos of a toy gun made of Legos that a man pulled from his waistband, causing a deputy to fire several shots Thursday.
"As you can see, the deputy would have no way of knowing that it was not a real gun from the distance. (20-25 yards)," wrote Cindi West of the King County Sheriff's Office in releasing the photos.
The deputy responded to Northeast Woodinville-Duvall Road east of Northeast Mink Road near Duvall after someone reported seeing a man waving a gun at cars, the sheriff's office said.
The deputy arrived around 11:20 a.m. and encountered a man who ignored her commands and then pulled out what appeared to be a black handgun from his waistband and raised it into the air.
The deputy fired several shots and the man dropped to the ground.
The man, who was not hurt, was taken into custody.
