While speaking to reporters outside the convenience store, the father of the 30-year-old woman shot during the robbery angrily lashed out at the men who shot her.

"Don't shooting, don't shooting!" the man shouted in broken English. "Hey young guys you need money? You work! Work!"

He then got into a minivan and drove to the hospital where his daughter is being treated without giving his name.

Pierce County sheriff's detectives say the woman was shot during a holdup at the Pacific Quick Mart at Pacific Avenue and 167 Street South.

Surveillance images show the back of the clerk's head as a masked man pointed a gun at her. Another picture shows him throwing a bag at the woman and demanding she put cash inside.

A little more than an hour later, deputies stopped the getaway car at 84 and Hosmer in Tacoma.
