Police chase of stolen car ends with PIT maneuver near Renton

Police stopped the fleeing driver of a stolen car as he raced through Burien, SeaTac and Renton Sunday afternoon.
Police said the chase began around 3:30 p.m. when an aggressive driver was traveling at a high rate of speed on westbound State Route 518.
Officers said the driver was weaving back and forth and passing vehicles on the shoulder.
Police said they tried to stop the driver, but he cut across all lanes of traffic to exit at Des Moines Memorial Drive in Burien.
The driver then got onto Air Cargo Road and entered eastbound SR 518.
When the driver got onto Interstate 405, the Washington State Patrol and SeaTac police joined the King County sheriff’s deputies in the pursuit.
During the chase, the car blew a tire, but the fleeing driver kept going.
Officers used the PIT maneuver to stop the driver in Renton.
He was taken into custody.
