SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — A 42-year-old Sultan man was arrested Sunday night after police say he did a drive-by shooting while driving drunk, all while his 3-year-old child was in the car.
In a probable cause document, police said the shooting happened around 10 p.m. between Startup and Gold Bar.

Police said a woman, her brother and her boyfriend were in their car near startup when the man said they were on private property and asked if they had drugs.
When they drove away, police said the man followed them in his car and fired shots at them.
According to police, witness video and statements said the man “shot north directly into gridlock traffic on Highway 2 through Sultan.”
The woman called the police and a deputy with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office tried to pull over the man.
When they approached the man’s car, deputies said he “smelled a strong odor of intoxicants…similar to that generally associated with the consumption of liquor.”
Police said the man brought up several times that his three-year-old child was inside of the vehicle. Authorities said they determined that the child was in the vehicle for the entire duration of the reckless endangerment, drive-by shooting and DUI.
The man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on investigation of first-degree assault, drive-by shooting, reckless endangerment and driving under the influence.
Records show the man posted $20,000 bond and had a probable cause hearing on Monday.
KIRO 7 is not naming the man since charges have not yet been filed.
