FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — The man accused of stealing two cars Sunday--including one with a woman in the backseat—was ordered held on $500,000 bail Monday.
Police say Aleksandr Borodulin’s crime spree began when he broke into a Federal Way home on Sunday afternoon, assaulted the person inside and stole the man’s Mercedes.
"I don't feel safe,” said Angel, whose car was stolen.
On Sunday, Angel was in the garage when he says Borodulin broke through the front door.
"I told him what are you doing in my house? He says no, this is my house. I said, dude, this is my house--what are you talking about?” said Angel.
Angel says Borodulin attacked him and took his keys.
Angel feared for his life, so he ran; meantime Borodulin got into Angel's Mercedes and drove after him in his own car.
"It's really crazy,” said Angel.
It's the same Mercedes that police say Borodulin later dropped off at a 76 gas station in Auburn.
That’s when Borodulin got into a Dodge Charger left running in the parking lot.
"And I was just like oh my God, Sabrina's in my car. Like, oh, my God,” said Lindsay Nemeyer, who had been driving that Charger.
She and a friend had gone into the 76 station and left Sabrina Westfall in the backseat.
"I'm just glad to be alive, because I thought -- I really thought that I was gonna die,” said Sabrina Westfall.
With Westfall in the backseat, she says Borodulin drove for about 45 minutes.
When Federal Way Police spotted the vehicle, the high-speed chase began.
It ended when Borodulin crashed the charger in Milton.
"I really thought we were gonna crash and die,” said Westfall.
In court on Monday, KIRO 7 found out that Aleksandr Borodulin had more than 10 warrants out for his arrest since 2010.
Borodulin faces a judge on Wednesday.
