Fife motel evacuated during police standoff

FIFE, Wash. — Fife police are in a standoff after a woman made threats at a Fife motel Wednesday night.

Police responded to a report of a domestic violence situation between a man and woman at about 6:30 p.m. at the Econo Lodge motel.

According to police, guests reported that a woman was making threats to shoot a man. When officers arrived the two were inside a room.

When officers made contact at the door, the woman threatened officers that she would shoot officers if they entered the room.

Police are treating the incident as a hostage situation.

No injuries have been reported.

Police tell KIRO 7 negotiators have been calling the room and a SWAT team is at the scene

The hotel was evacuated.
