Rooftop fire in West Seattle caused by discarded smoking materials

A rooftop fire occurred in West Seattle on Monday. 

SEATTLE — A rooftop fire in West Seattle occurred Monday afternoon.

Officials determined the fire was accidental – caused by ‘improperly discarded smoking materials’ on the rooftop deck.

The damage was estimated to be $7,000.

No injuries resulted from the fire, according to fire officials.

The fire occurred at an apartment building along 41st Avenue SW.
