Seahawks announce ‘dynamic pricing' ticket policy

SEATTLE — Seahawks season ticket holder Tom Myhre and his family were outside Century Link field when asked about the Seahawks new ticket pricing policy.

"I think it's great revenue for the stadium," said Myhre.

The Seahawks’ new dynamic pricing formula won't affect him, but he understands why the Super Bowl 48 champs are planning to do it.

"With the success that the team's had," he said. "It only makes sense that they're going to adjust so they can continue to bring in all the quality players that we have and do the things that we've been doing."

The NFL is just now allowing teams to use dynamic pricing to price its single tickets and the Seahawks are the first team to jump on it.

In its announcement Monday, the team said it worked out a deal with longtime ticket brokers to "redistribute" 4,000 season tickets.

2,000 of the tickets have already been sold as individual tickets to fans on the Blue Pride wait list.

The remaining 2,000 will be subject to "dynamic pricing" which means the higher the demand, the higher the ticket price.

The new policy worries fan Damaris Sanchez of Des Moines.

"We love being at the game," said Sanchez. "We love supporting our Seahawks, but as a fan that wants to be in the crowd, that wants to be there in person watching the game, I think it's going to be that much harder."

The Seahawks single tickets go on sale July 13th.

But the team does have some good news.

On July 20, it will sell 1,700 tickets for a mere $62 each.

But fans have to go to Century Link Field to buy them.
