SEATTLE — Seattle hotel rooms are going fast for football fans arriving for Saturday's Seahawks-Saints playoff game.
Some are doubling their rates.
At Hotel Monaco, rates for Saturday night start at $399.
This time of year, they can often be as low as $169.
General Manager Tom Waithe says not all the guests expected this weekend will actually have tickets to the game.
Many just want to be in town to feel the energy of the 12th Man.
"They're just down by the stadium down by the bars and they get a feel of the emotion connecting with the rest of the city," Waithe says.
At the Silver Cloud Stadium Hotel, General Manager Bill Weise expects to sell out for the weekend in the next couple of days.
Rooms are going for $200-$300 per night, a special event rate 10-20 percent higher than normal.
