Seattle Reign unveils new uniforms

As the presenting sponsor, the Microsoft logo will appear on the Reign’s new home and away kits. Designed by Nike, the new uniforms feature a blue and black home kit, a bright green away kit and a black and gray goalie uniform.

SEATTLE — On a sunny day in Seattle, the talk at one downtown restaurant was all about the “Reign.”

The women’s professional soccer team, the Seattle Reign FC, held a kit reveal party Thursday night at the Hard Rock Café.

The club also announced that Microsoft would serve as its presenting partner for the upcoming season.

“In many, many different ways Microsoft has been supportive of the organization and we’re super excited about the collaboration,” Said Reign FC owner Bill Predmore.

Part of the partnership is a collaboration between Microsoft and Reign FC on a sports science and analytics program. Microsoft says it hopes the program will help improve the athletes’ performance, while also protecting them from injuries.

As the presenting sponsor, the Microsoft logo will appear on the Reign’s new home and away kits. Designed by Nike, the new uniforms feature a blue and black home kit, a bright green away kit and a black and gray goalie uniform.

“I think Nike sees us as a club that wants to stand out from the crowd and we always want something that’s a little bit different, a little bit new,” said Reign FC head coach and general manager Laura Harvey.

In addition to the new kits and new sponsorship, the club revealed a few changes for fans this season, including adding a beer garden at home matches at Memorial Stadium.

The team will break in the home kits on Saturday when they take on the University of Washington in the annual pre-season Community Shield Match, beginning at 7 p.m.

The Reign FC opens the season April 17 at 4 p.m. against Sky Blue FC.
