Home surveillance cameras and residents in Ashford recently spotted a large pack of husky dogs roaming in their community, according to the Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County.
Once reported to Animal Control, the 14 dogs were caught and brought to the Humane Society for care and food, now that they’re no longer left to fend for themselves.
The dogs, varying in age from 5 months to 5 years old, arrived scared and nervous to the shelter, but have shown signs of friendliness to the staff.
However, with the recent intake, the kennels at the Humane Society are now completely full and animals keep flooding in, according to the Humane Society.
A total of 184 dogs are in their care, creating a strain on staff and resources.
Staff at the Humane Society are working fast to heal and rehabilitate the 14 huskies, including providing any needed medical treatment, vaccinations, and spaying and neutering, to make them available for adoption as soon as possible.
More information on the huskies and how you can help the Humane Society can be found on their website.
