Five arrested after breaking into Tacoma power vault

Five people were arrested Monday night after breaking into a power vault in Tacoma, according to the Tacoma Police Department.

At about 6:28 p.m. Monday, officers received a report of five people breaking into the City of Tacoma’s power vault, just west of the Tacoma Mall.

According to maps of the area, the fenced-in power vault is at the south end of the former Tacoma Golf Center and Driving Range, in the 4500 block of South Tyler Street.

Officers arrested all five for burglary and vandalism.

One of the men also had a gun. He was also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and for removing identification marks on the gun.
