Human remains found by workers at a South Hill construction site Friday have been identified as that of a missing Olympia woman.

Ginger Lynn Gover, 41, was last seen leaving a friend’s house in Tacoma on July 29 as she left to visit other friends in Eatonville, according to Pierce County Sheriff's deputies.

At 10:20 a.m. that day, Gover called her friend in Eatonville and said she had stopped to fix a flat tire. Deputies said another friend met Gover at a gas station at 112th and Canyon Road in Puyallup and helped her change the tire. The friend said Gover drove away heading toward Eatonville, but she never arrived and was not seen or heard from since.

Deputies say Gover’s green 2000 Honda Civic was found abandoned, and completely stripped, in a warehouse complex on in the 900 block of Valley Avenue NW in Puyallup on Aug. 6. Deputies believe the vehicle was dumped off in the warehouse complex on Aug. 4.

Construction crews found Gover's body Friday while they were building a road in the 14000 block of 94th Avenue East.   Detectives and forensics processed the scene throughout the day.

At the time of the discovery, investigators said the remains were too decomposed to be recognized.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner released the identity of the remains Tuesday, but said the cause of death was undetermined.

On Friday, detectives told KIRO 7 they believed the case was a homicide.
