Lt. Jen Kolb of the Tumwater Police Department said the suspect stopped his car, got out, stalked her, dragged her over a fence on the western side of the road and sexually assaulted her in a wooded area, “she did try to fight back, and the more she fought back the more he assaulted her physically, told her not to do that again.”
The woman tried to fend off the attacker but he physically assaulted her more and told her not to do it again.
After the attack, the man left the scene in a newer dark colored sedan he had parked on the side of the road.
The suspect is described as a white man, 30 to 35 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches or shorter, with some facial hair. He may have had reddish hair and was possibly wearing a blue spandex athletic short sleeved shirt which was tucked into his pants, a brown leather belt and two pairs of underwear.
The police also believe two boys on bicycles saw both the victim and suspect moments before the attack.
"We're hoping to locate those boys so we could talk to them as well, they were on bicycles and disappeared down one of the side streets," Kolb said.
Kolb told KIRO 7 it’s a case they are sharing with the public for specific reasons, “it's an incident, an occurrence that frightens us because it is somebody she didn't know.”
