Riders will see less time between trains during rush hour and the number of daily trips between Lakewood and King Street Station will jump to 13 Monday through Friday.
Aaron Sanders commutes from Pierce County to Seattle on a daily basis.
"It doesn't look like it here in Lakewood, but as you get closer to Seattle, it gets packed on every train," says Sanders.
According to Sound Transit, Sounder's ridership in the south Sound has jumped nearly 3 percent in the last year.
The number of daily passengers using the system is now more than 15,000.
We talked to Lakewood resident, Josh Peters, who just started riding the train last week to get to his new job in downtown Seattle.
“It’s great so far. It’s perfect. Better than driving,” says Peters. “A lot less stress, 100 percent, no worries”.
Another change this week: Sound Transit is adding more cars to their midday train, which just launched last year along the South Line.
Right now there are plans to add service to the North Line, which serves fewer passengers than the South Line.
