TACOMA, Wash. — After the results from the initial election night returns were revealed, Victoria Woodards has won reelection as the mayor of Tacoma.
Leading with 58% of the vote over challenger Steve Haverly, Woodards released a statement declaring victory Tuesday night:
“I am grateful to Tacomans for their confidence in my leadership and will not fail them in our mission to build a more resilient equitable economy, end the crisis of gun violence on our streets, and tackle our toughest challenges like homelessness. Together, we will transform Tacoma into the City of Destiny we know in our hearts it can be.”
Woodards leads Haverly with 12,285 votes to 8,871 after initial election night returns.
