Troopers say wrong-way driver caused crash on I-5

TACOMA, Wash. — A man is in custody after troopers say he drove the wrong way and crashed on I-5.

Washington State Department of Transportation cameras showed the crash near Portland Avenue on southbound I-5 in Tacoma at 10:12 p.m. Sunday.

Troopers say the driver, who was under the influence, hit three cars.

The 29-year-old suspect from Oak Harbor and another driver were injured.

The crash blocked the freeway for more than three hours.
