Two burglary suspects arrested in Pierce County

Two commercial burglary suspects were arrested in the Summit area on Tuesday, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies served a warrant at an apartment in the 6100 block of 111th Street East.

The suspects were under investigation for a string of burglaries at hardware and farm supply stores in King and Pierce counties.

The stolen property would often turn up on the online marketplace OfferUp, where deputies developed probable cause to arrest the two suspects.

During a search of the apartment, deputies found stolen property that had been posted for sale online.

Clothing that was worn during one of the burglaries, as well as a bag that was used to carry stolen goods, were also found.

A 40-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man were arrested and booked into jail.
