Starbucks has cancelled the Gold Card reward accounts of thousands of customers.
SEATTLE — Starbucks told customers in an email their reward account was being canceled because they were not complying with the program's terms of use.
In many cases it was because Starbucks did not have proof the card holder was older than the required age of 13.
KIRO 7 reached out to Starbucks and the company said, "Our Terms of Use cover a variety of different things including requiring account holders to be 13 years old. We recognize it's an inconvenience and we will gladly restore gold status for customers who create a new account.”
