SEATTLE — Bad news, Macklemore fans – it’s the end of an era.

The Seattle Times is reporting that the Capitol Hill Value Village that inspired the Seattle rapper’s breakout hit, “Thrift Shop”, is closing Nov. 1.

“Though unfortunate, certain business conditions have made it necessary to close our Value Village thrift store in the Capitol Hill neighborhood after a number of years of leasing the space on a month-to-month basis,” a spokesperson for Value Village told the Capitol Hill Seattle blog.

The thrift store is located at 1525 11th Ave.

It has occupied the building since 1996. Before moving Value Village moved in, the store housed an REI flagship store.

The store was featured in Macklemore’s “Thrift Shop” music video.
