JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Florida man's act of kindness for the storm-ravaged Bahamas is making viral headlines in the wake of Hurricane Dorian.
According to CNN, the farmer, who asked to remain anonymous, spent more than $49,000 Wednesday at a Jacksonville Costco. His massive purchase included more than 100 generators priced at $450 each, as well as food and other supplies he is sending to Abaco and Grand Bahama islands, the network reported.
News of the donation quickly spread on social media after fellow shopper Alec Sprague took to Facebook to praise the man for his generosity.

The farmer's friend Errol Thurston, a boat captain from the Bahamas, is working with contacts to get the supplies to the Bahamas, either by container ship or by boats and planes, CNN reported.
"It's important that we help each other out," the farmer told CNN. "It's better than just sitting there."
