MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — A woman attempting to parallel park accelerated into the outdoor seating area of a South Florida restaurant on Thursday night, killing one person and injuring six others, authorities said.
At 6:03 p.m., the Miami Beach Police Department and the Miami Beach Fire Department responded to a crash at Call Me Gaby, the Miami Herald reported.
The woman hit several tables in the outdoor cafe area of the restaurant in the South Beach area of Miami Beach, the newspaper reported.
The woman struck several tables resulting in 7 patients being transported to the hospital. Unfortunately, one of the patients transported has died at the hospital.

One witness told WPLG-TV that a child was among the victims.
Clement Lottier, who was also a witness, shared a video that showed smoke and people running away from the restaurant, the television station reported.
Authorities have not released any other details about the crash, including the names of the victims.
In a statement, Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber called the crash a “devastating tragedy.”
“Our entire city grieves for all the victims and their families,” Gelber said.
