MIAMI — One person was killed and six others were injured during a drive-by shooting outside a rented party space in a Miami neighborhood late Friday, authorities said.
According to the Miami Police Department, officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert at 11:53 p.m. EDT in an area that borders the Miami of Overtown and Wynwood, the Miami Herald reported.
Residents in the area said more than 60 shots were fired, according to WSVN. Miami police officer and spokesperson Kiara Delva said authorities have determined the shooter fired dozens of rounds from a car, the Herald reported. The make of the vehicle is pending as the investigation continues.

One person was treated at the University of Miami Hospital, WFOR reported. The other six were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
On Saturday morning, detectives continued to investigate the scene and gather forensic evidence, the Herald reported. The shooter remained at large as of Saturday evening.
Promoters of the party at the event space advertised it on fliers as a Caribbean-themed gathering, the newspaper reported.
The names of the victims have not been identified, WFOR reported.
