INDIANA, Pa. — Twelve people were injured on Saturday after a floor collapsed during an off-campus party at an apartment complex near Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, the second floor at Elm by Traverse Commons collapsed shortly before midnight EDT, WPXI-TV reported.
“It is unknown exactly how many people were inside the apartment at the time of the floor collapse,” Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Clifford A. Greenfield told CNN. “All occupants were able to exit the apartment.”

Seven of the 12 people injured were hospitalized, WPXI reported. Their conditions range from minor to serious, according to the television station.
The cause of the collapse has not yet been released.
“I can tell you that as we learn information about those injured or displaced, we will provide support to our students and to their families, including offering housing to anyone who has been displaced,” Michelle Fryling, a spokesperson for Indiana University of Pennsylvania, said in a statement to CNN.
