PLANO, Texas — A 13-year-old boy from Texas is making sure children who may not be able to celebrate the holidays have a Merry Christmas.
Jaxson Turner set up the nonprofit Never 2 Young 2 Care charity.
It started a few years ago when he decided instead of birthday presents, he wanted to feed the homeless.
He continued his mission for Christmas this year, raising $5,900 to help 61 homeless children, Jaxson told KXAS.
He bought shoes, coats, socks and toys for the kids and even gave them all a hot meal, the television station reported.
“It feels good to see the kids happy and the parents too. It was more special this year because people chose to help even in the midst of a pandemic,” Jaxson told KXAS. “It’s an honor to serve those who are less fortunate because it could be any of us facing a sad time of homelessness in our lives. I hope that I am making God and my community proud.”
Jaxson has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help raise money to continue his mission.
He has also planned to hold a fundraiser to provide Easter dinners next year.
