“Addiction plagues many families, and our family was not immune to it,” the family wrote on a GoFundMe page, established to help cover memorial expenses and support the 26-year-old’s daughter, 6-month-old Lyla.

Cashmyer’s mother originally shared news of her death on Cashmyer’s father’s Facebook page. The Maryland Department of Health Office of Chief Medical Examiner confirmed the reality star’s death to Fox News Digital.

“Jordan was always so full of life and full of personality,” the post continued, adding, “She had a way of always making those around her laugh and smile, and her smile was truly contagious. Our family is heartbroken, and we will forever miss Jordan. We are now faced with the grim outcome that our grandaughter that we have been raising will never get to make memories with her mother or father, never getting to know them.”

Cashmyer starred alongside her family and former boyfriend, Derek Taylor, in a 2014 episode of “16 & Pregnant,” People reported.

According to the online fundraiser description, Lyla’s father died of addiction-related causes about four months before Cashmyer.

“Our family has to now not only put our daughter to rest but navigate through starting over with an infant who has lost both her parents in her six months of life. Please help our family cover the costs of Jordan’s memorial and start a fund for Lyla’s future. We did not foresee starting back over, and all that comes along with that,” the post continued.

Cashmyer split with Taylor after her segment on the series ended. Her airtime focused on her struggles with homelessness and attempts to find work as a pregnant teenager, whose family had disowned her due to their disapproval of her relationship with Taylor, People reported.

According to Variety, the young mother’s struggles continued even after she gave birth to daughter, Evie, and she later signed over custody rights on a temporary basis to Taylor’s mother in 2015.
