AUSTIN, Texas — An 18-vehicle pile up early Sunday morning temporarily shut down a portion of Interstate 35 in Austin, investigators said.
Austin police said four cars were involved in the initial crash around 3 a.m., KXAN reported. Then, another 14 vehicles were disabled by debris from that accident.
Paramedics arrived and said 32 people were involved in the crashes. One person was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The road was closed while crews worked to clean up the wreckage, it has since reopened.
