HONOLULU — Two Honolulu police officers were fatally shot Sunday morning near Diamond Head and four homes went up in flames after an attempted eviction went awry, officials said.
Update 11:56 p.m. EST Jan. 19: Officers Tiffany Enriquez and Kaulike Kalama were killed after responding to a call about a woman with a stab wound to her leg, The Associated Press reported.
Investigators said the suspect and two women are still unaccounted for. Police will continue searching for the shooter but believe he was inside the house when it burned.
Original report: An officer was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died, Hawaii News Now reported. A second officer who was in critical condition also died.
Jerry Hanel stabbed his landlord, then shot at responding officers before setting the house on fire, Hawaii New Now reported.
Within minutes, the home was fully engulfed, The Star-Advertiser reported. The fire spread to nearby residences and police vehicles parked nearby.

Police are still searching for the shooter.
"We are responding to an active shooter in Waikiki. That is what we are responding to. It is developing," Derek Hayes, with the FBI in Honolulu, told CNN.
