A dog from New Richmond, Ohio, is a top 10 finalist to be the 2020 Cadbury Easter Bunny.

Lieutenant Dan, a treeing walker coonhound, was born with a birth defect that required his back legs to be amputated. He is named after the “Forrest Gump” character who lost his legs in Vietnam.

His adopted owners told The Cincinnati Enquirer that “he has a joy for life that’s infectious and inspiring.”

In recent years, Cadbury has had a clucking bunny Easter commercial that typically features every kind of animal (except a chicken, of course.)

“The Cadbury Clucking Bunny commercial has been a perennial Easter favorite for over 30 years. After last year’s newest edition, featuring Henri the bulldog, and the overwhelming positive feedback we’ve received, we decided to bring back the bunny tryouts,” Ethan Mandel, associate brand manager for Cadbury, told WLWT.

The winner of the contest will have an opportunity to be in an upcoming commercial and receive a cash prize of $5,000.

Voting for the Cadbury finalist ends March 18.
